Where The Weekend Actually Starts
Thursday night is the soft launch. This is where it happens.
The official 944Fest schedule says the event starts Friday. The Transaxle Lounge is the social gathering for those who showed up early.
It's all on site at VIR. Grab some food, grab a drink, and catch up with old (and new) friends.

Drinks, introductions, the first round of "what did you bring?"
You walk in. Someone is talking about the build they finished six weeks ago. Someone else is showing photos of the engine swap they didn't finish in time. There's a group at a back table that's been doing this for fifteen years, and they're going to wave you over the second they see you standing alone.
Nobody's pitching anything. Nobody's signing anybody up. The Transaxle Lounge is just a room full of people who have come a long way to be here.
Thursday night is when the weekend really starts.
If you're new (first 944Fest, just got the car, found us through a forum or a friend), Thursday at Oak Tree Tavern is where you stop being new. Walk in. Sit somewhere. Say what you brought. The rest takes care of itself.
